DryLok: Concrete Patch
DESCRIPTION DRYLOK Concrete Patch is an interior and exterior cement patching system. The special dry powder cement is fortified with a powdered bonding agent to improve masonry-to-masonry adhesion. Mixes easily with water. Ideal for use to top weld, join or patch brick and mortar, masonry walls, masonry steps and cracks in masonry floors. DRYLOK Concrete Patch provides superior adhesion to hairline cracks or large breaks. It is waterproof, self-curing and will not shrink after drying. DRYLOK Concrete Patch will not chip or crack like concrete.
SURFACE PREP The area to be repaired must be clean and free from all dirt and loose material. DRYLOK Concrete Patch will not adhere to crumbly or powdery surfaces. If area to be patched has been washed, mop up excess water. MIX Mix DRYLOK Concrete Patch right in DRYLOK Concrete Patch container. Wear a dust mask to avoid breathing dry powder. Slowly add water to the special cement powder (1 part water to 3 parts cement for normal repairs) stirring constantly until the consistency is smooth. Adjust consistency if necessary by adding additional water or cement powder. To repair small cracks, mix to a thin consistency; for deep or wide repairs, use a heavy consistency. APPLICATION Wet surface to be patched with clean water. When repairing small cracks apply DRYLOK Concrete Patch with a stiff brush. After approximately 10 minutes, remove excess material by scraping with putty knife. For deep or wide repairs apply patch with a putty knife or trowel. DRYLOK Concrete Patch should be used within two hours after mixing. Even though DRYLOK Concrete Patch provides better adhesion than other types of repair materials, the reopening of patched areas due to settling and expansion or contraction can occur. Do not use in temperatures below 40°F. To strengthen the bond of DRYLOK Concrete Patch to difficult surfaces such as dense or slick concrete, coat surface with DRYLOK Latex Bonding Agent instead of water before patching. Apply DRYLOK Latex Bonding Agent by brush or spray. Wait for it to change from milky color to a clear glaze (approx. 30 minutes) before applying patch. LIMITATION Not for use in repairing cracks or holes in masonry where there is an active flow of water. To stop active flow of water use a hydraulic cement like DRYLOK Fast Plug.
